MkExt is an open-source browser extension starter for SaaS applications, built on the WXT framework and licensed under Apache 2.0. It provides ready-made surfaces—popup, side panel, options, new tab, DevTools, and background pages—so developers can shape an extension around an existing product rather than starting from a blank manifest.
- Builds Chrome MV3 and Firefox packages from one React codebase
- Includes authentication flow, typed shared state across extension contexts, localization, and themes
- Connects to SaaS backends such as Better Auth via a configurable auth URL
